SPARK! Outdoor Play Lab

Grab your binoculars and get ready to explore the skies, treetops, and waterways of the Murfree Spring Wetland! This interactive adventure introduces participants to the incredible variety of winged creatures that depend on wetland habitats, from colorful dragonflies and buzzing insects to majestic birds like the Great Blue Heron.

As we venture through the wetlands, we’ll become wildlife detectives, searching for birds and insects in their natural habitats and learning how to identify them by their colors, shapes, behaviors, and calls. Along the way, we’ll discover why wetlands are such important feeding, nesting, and resting areas for so many species.

Equipped with binoculars and a keen sense of observation, participants will enjoy a guided birdwatching walk and bug hunt, keeping track of how many different species we can spot and identify. Every visit to the wetlands is different, making each exploration a new opportunity for discovery.
